Summer holiday July 2018 Young Learners Games Design course

Scratch football game
Suitable for 7 to 8 year olds, this course is designed for young children who have some or no previous experience with making computer games. We give the children a gentle introduction to the games making process as the group creates a complete game. Then each child is encouraged to build their own game, progressing at their own speed.

Course content

Gov.UK logoOur courses cover attainment targets from the new National Computing Curriculum.

This course is suitable for both beginners and children who already have some experience.

This courses teaches students digital image and games design concepts including image creation and editing, file management, interactive animation, character and object control, and programming concepts such as event handlers, functions and properties.

Course content is tailored to challenge and improve each learner's existing skills and knowledge. Learners are continually assessed to establish the level they are working at and to stretch them.

CertificateAccreditation & levels

These course are accredited with Young Games Designer Level 1, 2 & 3 Pixel Gang Certificates. To earn a certificate learners must complete tasks and create supporting evidence.
